Bali, 29 August 2022 – Supporting climate sustainability as one of the goals of the G20 Forum, Polytama participated in the G20 Presidency Exhibition which is a series of agendas for the 3rd meeting of the Deputy Environment and Climate Sustainability Working Group (3rd G20 EDM-CSWG). Polytama opened a booth introducing cumin tea “Syahi & Sahi Cumin Tea” or known as “S & SJ Cumin Tea”. This product is included in the CSR program fostered by Polytama which comes from the I-MASARO (Indramayu Waste Management Zero) development program.
The beginning of collaboration and innovation from Polytama’s fostered partners in processing waste into something useful was the idea of a community of indigenous migrant workers living in Tinumpuk Indramayu Village. This community has succeeded in creating and managing derivative products from the use of waste processing consistently. Since the I-Masaro program was inaugurated in early 2018, this community has been growing and creative until 2020 the group of mothers from the Polytama-assisted I-Masaro Community Based Organization made a breakthrough in the results of processing the waste into a planting medium for cumin plants.
This started in order to create opportunities for the mothers of the community to skillfully get around and respond to pandemic conditions by giving birth to something unexpected with limited mobility.
Through this product, I-Masaro members have successfully demonstrated their ability to create products that are unique, innovative, efficacious and encourage sustainability for the environment and society. S & SJ Teh Cumin products also use liquid fertilizer recycled by I-Masaro in their cultivation. The uniqueness and sustainability elements of this product are the main reasons Polytama chose the S & SJ Cumin Tea product as the main product introduced and was present at the G20 exhibition yesterday in Nusa Dua, Bali.
