PETROCHEMICAL INDUSTRY IN INDONESIA

Polytama plays an important role as the spearhead in the Indonesian Government’s efforts to advance the national petrochemical industry to meet domestic needs and reduce import dependence. The Government of Indonesia is assured that development of petrochemical industry, as part of the upstream industry, will spur the growth of downstream industry and in turns help building a strong manufacturing industry in general.

POLYTAMA AT A GLANCE

PT Polytama Propindo was established in 1993 as a significant manufacturer of polypropylene resin (PP resin) in Indonesia. Polytama is one of the leading and growing petrochemical companies providing PP resin in Indonesia under the Masplene® brand name. In 2017, Polytama launched its newest product innovation, which is granule.

PRODUCTS

Masplene is a high quality polypropylene resin produced by Polytama using one of the world’s best technologies i.e Montell Spheripol Process (now LyondellBasell). It offers several distincs advantages and is easy to use. The base polymer can be modified during production to suit user manufactures needs.

MARKET & DISTRIBUTION

The Company has a well established distribution network in Indonesia from its manufacturing site in Indramayu, boasting an easy access for transporting to customers areas, that includes all the major cities in Indonesia.

Spurring the Growth of
Petrochemical Industry The Government believes that by developing national petrochemical industry, among other things, Indonesia can overcome its trade balance deficit. The development of petrochemical industry, which is an upstream industry, will spur the growth of downstream industries. Thus, Indonesia will be able to increase its export of plastic-based products so as to increase the country’s foreign exchange.
