Welcoming the “Anugerah Jurnalistik Pertamina” Delegation at Balongan Plant Site
Indramayu, September 24, 2024 – PT Polytama Propindo (Polytama) warmly welcomed a special delegation consisting of dozens of national media representatives, as well as the media communications teams from PT Pertamina (Persero) and Pertamina New & Renewable Energy (PNRE). This visit was part of the “Anugerah Jurnalistik Pertamina (AJP) 2024” program, where Polytama was selected as one of the host companies for the event. During the visit, Polytama invited the guests to learn about its business processes, including a direct tour of its operational site in Balongan, Indramayu.
Polytama extended a warm welcome to the AJP delegation, which included national media representatives who were being introduced to Polytama and its flagship polypropylene (PP) resin product, Masplene®, for the first time. The media expressed significant interest in gaining a deeper understanding of Polytama through comprehensive presentations, covering the advantages of PP products, the company’s contributions to sustainability through its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programs, and efforts to dispel misconceptions often associated with Polytama as a plastic producer.
PP plastic has unique characteristics that distinguish it from other types of plastic. PP is recommended for food packaging because it does not contain harmful chemicals. Moreover, PP is reusable, making it a more sustainable material. Polytama’s Commercial & Support Director, Mr. Dwinanto Kurniawan, stated, “We are ready to support the AJP activities and the media in their role as a bridge of information between the company and the public by providing accurate and educational information.” Polytama also invited the media and representatives from Pertamina and PNRE to visit its production area to witness the production process firsthand, from propylene gas as raw material to polypropylene resin ready for delivery to Polytama’s customers.
AJP is an annual journalism event organized by Pertamina as an appreciation for media professionals across Indonesia who have produced high-quality journalistic work for the public. The AJP program also involves all Pertamina Group subsidiaries, with Polytama’s participation marking its role as part of Pertamina Group through PT Tuban Petrochemical Industries, the majority shareholder of Polytama.
