Polytama Strengthens OHS Commitment to Safeguard Safety, Performance, and Business Sustainability

  • January 19, 2026

Indramayu, January 19, 2025 – PT Polytama Propindo (Polytama), a leading polypropylene producer in Indonesia, officially launched the series of events for the 2026 National Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Month. The opening ceremony was attended by management, all Polytama employees, and business partners. Held from January 12 to February 12, 2026, this commemoration serves as a strategic momentum for the company to reaffirm that occupational health and safety is the primary foundation in maintaining performance, operational reliability, and long-term business sustainability.

In his remarks, Polytama’s Operations Director, Syawaludin Azwar, emphasized that for Polytama, the implementation of OHS is not merely about regulatory compliance, but an integral part of the company’s sustainability commitment. A safe and healthy work environment is a fundamental prerequisite to ensure optimal and consistent production processes, enabling the company to deliver high-quality products while protecting all employees and business partners.

As a concrete step to strengthen the OHS system, Polytama officially introduced the latest version of the OK Card Form and the Life Saving Rules (LSR) Book as official guidelines for OHS implementation in the workplace. The updated OK Card Form is designed not only to report unsafe conditions and actions, but also to capture positive observations of safe behaviors and conditions. All findings are categorized into LSR and other risk categories, allowing them to serve as a basis for risk analysis, prioritization of corrective actions, and continuous learning across all operational lines.

Meanwhile, the LSR Book provides clear guidance on do’s and don’ts in work execution, particularly for high-risk activities. This guideline is expected to serve as a common reference for all Polytama employees and partners to ensure that every task is carried out in a disciplined, safe, and responsible manner, in line with the company’s established safety standards.

Syawaludin Azwar reaffirmed that OHS is a non-negotiable priority in all company activities. “No work target is more important than safety. Every task must be performed safely, in accordance with procedures, and with care for colleagues and the environment,” he stated. This reflects Polytama’s commitment that operational excellence can only be achieved through a work culture that prioritizes occupational health and safety.

Carrying the theme “Building a Professional, Reliable, and Collaborative OHS Management Ecosystem,” the 2026 National OHS Month serves as a reminder that successful OHS implementation requires professionalism, reliable systems, and close collaboration among management, employees, and business partners. Such synergy is believed to strengthen operational resilience while supporting the company’s long-term sustainability agenda.

The opening ceremony of the 2026 National OHS Month also included a symbolic signing of the OHS commitment as a form of collective reinforcement among all Polytama personnel. The event was complemented by environmental initiatives through tree planting, led by Operations Director Syawaludin Azwar, General Manager Operation Bunyamin, and Senior Manager Operation Wifandy. This activity symbolizes the strong interconnection between workplace safety, environmental sustainability, and corporate social responsibility.

Following the opening ceremony, a series of OHS Month activities will be carried out throughout the commemoration period. These programs include environmental initiatives such as tree planting and fish stocking, beach clean-up activities, blood donation drives and free health check-ups, a P4GN (Prevention and Eradication of Drug Abuse) talk show in collaboration with the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), an Anchoring Workshop with DSS, and the certification of First Aiders as part of strengthening emergency preparedness.

In addition, various OHS-themed competitions will be held, including the CEKA (OHS Knowledge Quiz), Fire & Safety Rescue Challenge, Step Challenge, and 5R Competition. All these activities are designed to encourage active participation, build collective awareness, and instill OHS values as part of daily work behavior.

Through the series of activities for the 2026 National OHS Month, Polytama reaffirms its commitment to making OHS an integral part of its business sustainability strategy. With a strong OHS culture, Polytama remains optimistic in maintaining operational reliability, enhancing company performance, and continuously delivering high-quality products while prioritizing the safety and well-being of all employees and business partners.
