Indramayu, October 28, 2023 – PT Polytama Propindo (Polytama), in collaboration with the Regional Government (Pemda) of Indramayu Regency, inaugurated a new biodigester developed in the Taman Tjimanoek area. The biodigester represents an innovative effort to utilize organic waste from food leftovers as a substitute for methane gas, which is used by Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (UMKM) culinary entrepreneurs in the Tjimanoek area.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Regent of Indramayu, Hj. Nina Agustina S.H., M.H., C.R.A, the Director General of Pollution Control and Damage, Sigit Reliantoro, and from Polytama, represented by Dwinanto Kurniawan, the Strategy & Planning Director.
The use of the biodigester has been implemented in the Tjimanoek area by six vendors out of a total of 87 who have undergone prior training. The inauguration event also included a session for planting seven tabebuya trees in the Tjimanoek area.
Dozens of students from the Balongan Institute of Petroleum Technology attended the event, showing enthusiasm during the Talk Show session discussing the importance of synergy in preserving the environment.
The diverse representation of attendees from various segments of society at the event reflects the existing synergy among Polytama, the Indramayu Regional Government, and the community to preserve the environment. Moving forward, Polytama will continue its commitment to the environment by building further synergy for environmental sustainability and promoting education on the #PlastikPPBaik, meaning Good PP Plastic that highlights polypropylene plastic produced by Polytama, recommended for use due to its unique characteristics that allow products made with polypropylene plastic to be reused multiple times.
