Indramayu, June 15, 2023 – Polytama held a sharing knowledge to introduce and promote the use of plastic products to members of the foster group in the Lombang Pickled Fish Development Program, also known as “Bang Pilo,” the latest Community Development program by Polytama. The event took place at the residence of the Bang Pilo Group Leader in the village of Lombang and was attended by the Bang Pilo Group, Kenanga Education House, and the Polytama Team from the CSR, HSE, and Production functions.
This activity is a form of Transfer Core Competency aimed at introducing the types and categories of plastics commonly encountered in everyday life. The introduction included presentations on the appropriate use of plastic for food packaging and the forms of reuse and recycling for each type of plastic. Polypropylene plastic, produced by Polytama, is recommended for use as food packaging due to its special characteristics that allow products made with polypropylene plastic to be used repeatedly without containing toxic chemical bonds. Polytama aims to introduce to the community that #goodplastic is possible when managed responsibly.
“There are several types of plastics that are closely related to our daily lives. One of them is polypropylene, recommended for food packaging,” said Dodi, a Production Engineer at Polytama, who served as the speaker. The expected output of this activity is to provide insight to the Bang Pilo group on using plastic appropriately for product packaging. “Through this #goodplastic introduction activity, we hope the group can understand the appropriate use of plastic for its function. We also hope that the group will always be wise and responsible in using plastic,” added M Andri Nugroho, Corporate Secretary Manager.
