Indramayu, June 14, 2024 – In the spirit of World Environment Day, which is celebrated on June 5th, Polytama organized its routine ‘Clean Friday’ or ‘Jumsih’ activities by planting trees in the green areas of the Polytama Plant Site. This initiative reflects Polytama’s commitment to promoting environmental awareness and supporting the celebration of World Environment Day.
Consisting of productive and rare plants such as durian montong, mango gedonggincu, pete cina, sandalwood, maja, and kepel, these were planted in the green area of the Polytama Plant Site. Afnaldi, the HSE Manager of Polytama, participated in the activity and emphasized in his speech the importance of synergy in improving our environment, starting from our immediate surroundings By smoothly carrying out today’s tree planting activity, we hope that our shared commitment to the environment will not stop here. We also urge everyone to plant trees in their own surroundings.
Tree planting activities also address aspects of land restoration, supporting efforts to restore the health and productivity of degraded land. By planting trees, we can help maintain soil fertility, store rainwater, reduce air pollutants, absorb carbon, and increase biodiversity.
“Polytama has also implemented a program for utilizing wastewater for irrigating green areas. Through this program, wastewater from domestic liquid waste is pumped for automatic irrigation of plants and land, creating sustainability synergy and minimizing waste in Polytama’s operations.
It is hoped that through this activity, Polytama can instill a green spirit and raise awareness of the importance of environmental preservation among its employees, as well as inspire others.
